Brainspotting Therapy Tool

Zoinks! "Where you look affects how you feel"

Brainspotting: Bypassing the Thinking Brain

Brainspotting targets the subcortical areas (amygdala, hippocampus) responsible for survival responses—regions that traditional talk therapy often cannot reach. By finding your "brainspot," you access deep trauma stored in the midbrain and limbic system.

You are the "head of the comet"—the lead in your own healing journey. This tool provides the "tail"—the support framework to guide your process.

The Resource Model (Safety First)

Before processing distress, we locate a Body Resource—an area of your body that feels calm, neutral, or grounded. This creates a neurobiological anchor you can pendulate to if overwhelmed.

Why it matters: Without a resource, trauma processing can dysregulate you. With it, you stay anchored in safety.

Getting Started

  1. Set your SUDs: Rate your current distress 0-10
  2. Choose your mode: Activation Spot or Resource Spot
  3. Find your brainspot: Move the target slowly until you feel a shift
  4. Use BioLateral Sound: Let the audio support your process
  5. Pendulate if needed: Switch between resource and activation
